About Me
I grew up in Siliguri, West Bengal, India, a picturesque city in the foothills of the Himalayas, where I completed my schooling before moving to Kolkata, West Bengal, India, to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Physics at Jadavpur University. I then joined the Harish-Chandra Research Institute (HRI), Prayagraj, India, for an Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D., where I began my research in quantum information theory.
My academic journey subsequently took me to Europe, first as a postdoctoral researcher at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland, and later at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy. During this period, my research interests gradually expanded from quantum information theory to quantum many-body physics and condensed matter theory. In 2023, after nearly five years abroad, I returned to India to join the Indian Institute of Technology Indore as an Assistant Professor, before moving to the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2024, where I currently lead the Synthetic Quantum Systems (SQS) research group at the Department of Physics.
